[Closed] - GIVEAWAY - Rock-It Speakers (3 Winners)

Plug it, Stick it, Rock-it! OrigAudio has come out with a great little device. The Rock-It is a portable vibration speaker system. It works similarly to how earphones works. The device sends vibration patterns though its pod and when you stick it on various objects, it transmits sound thus turning the object into a speaker.

When i received the Rock-It speaker, it came with a handy USB cable, an audio extension cable, four replacement sticky pads and the Rock-it itself. It requires (2) double AA batteries or the USB connection cord. As soon as i received it, i connected it to my MP3 and started sticking it on every surface near me. Some transmit better sound than others. I found it works well with hallow objects. The box it comes in worked pretty well, as well as an empty cardboard box, the refrigerator door and a couple others.

The Rock-It is compatible with any device that contains an audio jack, you can find them on mp3s, cell phones, laptops, etc. Not everyone carries portable speakers because of their size. The Rock-it is a little bulky, but portable nonetheless. Its great to have this handy when you want to rock out with your friends to some songs. I also have some places I'm curious about and want to go stick it on.. like a mailbox and a tree trunk (lol).

Pros - I love the fact that the Rock-it is very easy to use. The sticky pad, although you get some replacements, can be cleaned. It is perfect for me, because i really don't like transporting my speaker system (which has a sub-woofer) from room to room. I like listening to music while I cook, but its a hassle; all the plugging, replugging, transporting and what not.

Cons - Although it serves as a good alternative to my speaker system, the quality doesn't compare. I also think the encasing could improve a bit, it looks a bit plain. Another con is definitely the absence of a volume control. You can not control the volume with the Rock-it speaker; you can only control the audio on your mp3 or other device.

Overall all, OrigAudio's Rock-It speakers are very practical. I think these are great especially for college students in dorms. You'll have your friends taking it away from you to stick it on their favorite surfaces! OrgiAudio was kind enough to send me 4 Rock-It Speakers. One for review and 3 to give away to 3 lucky readers! They retail for $49.99. Special Promotion: OrigAudio sent me a code to share with you guys. During check-out enter "uguysrockit" for $10.00 off your purchase! :)

[Closed] GIVEAWAY - Bora Bora Foods Prize Pack

Bora Bora Foods, "As pure as the place" is their slogan. Who wouldn't be instantly drawn to that? I had come across a review of their bars on a blog and I had to contact them! Thanks to Megan, over at Bora Bora Organic Foods, I was sent some bars and other goodies to review.

I received five bars; Exotic Coconut Almond, Pacific Mango Macadamia, Wild Pomegranate Pecan, Paradise Walnut Pistachio and Volcanic Chocolate Banana. Without tasting them, i already love the fact that the names of their bars are very exotic and sound so tasty, lol. Its amazing how these bars have huge chunks of nuts and dried fruits. Their bars, by far, are the best eye candy I've seen in a while. I also received a really cute shirt, a super-adorable tiki mug, some fake tattoos and a chapstick. I will rave about the chapstick later on.

The bar i had to taste first was the Volcanic Chocolate Banana. The bar had tasty dried chunks of Banana with chocolate, walnuts and toasted coconut. It was extremely sweet. I still find it hard to believe that it is healthy! I planned on only tasting it but.. i ate all of it. It contains sea salt, but i didn't taste it at all. I took a couple of bites of the Paradise Walnut Pistachio, Exotic Coconut Almond and Pacific Mango Macadamia. Again, huge chunks of dried fruit on two of them. The Pistachio tasted very fresh, i loved it! The chunks of mango were perfection but I can't say the same about the Macadamia. The Coconut Almond bar was a 0 in my book. I usually love almond and coconut, but together in this bar, it just didn't taste good. It was too rough and dry for my taste. All these bars seemed to take a back seat to the Wild Pomegranate Pecan bar. It was, without a doubt, the tastiest, and my favorite. The bar also had hidden chunks of dried cherry. The fruit was very sweet and paired very well with the pecans.

Bora Bora's Bars are grouped into one of three families; get going "Energy", feel great "Superfood", and live long "Antioxidant".  These bars are gluten-free, organic, koher, non-GMO and contain no refined sugar. They are USDA certified organic.

The tiki mug and shirt i was sent, i love. The shirt is very soft and has an adorable Bora Bora logo on the front. The chapstick i was sent is amazing. I would have never thought my favorite product from Bora Bora Organic Foods would be a chapstick. It is an organic lip balm in Wild Pomegranate. It smells so good and is actually very moisturizing. I replaced my old one, permanently!

Overall, I'm very content with Bora Bora. They are a very friendly company to work with and have very unique healthy and organic bars. Part of their proceeds go to help promote a healthier world. They were so generous, that they are giving away a Bora Bora Kit to one of my lucky readers! :)

[Closed] GIVEAWAY - Jolly Llama Sorbets

I love sorbets. I know not too many people can say they prefer it over ice cream, but I'm one that can! I love fruit, and when i can get it frozen in a tube, there is nothing better in the world! After seeing them reviewed on blog i ran into, I contacted them for a review.

Thank to Michelle, over at Jolly Llama Sorbets, i was sent two flavors to review. Rhey arrived super cold, in a box packaged with some dry ice. I received Strawberry and Mango. Sorbets is made from water flavored by fruit puree or juice, as opposed to both ice cream and sherbet that contain milk. The strawberry sorbet was good, the taste was very strong. I enjoyed it, but my little brother and sister thought the taste was too strong and came off bitter. They made the "sour face" (lol). However, when we tried the mango, it was the complete opposite reaction. It was very tasty, rich and sweet. They both enjoyed it very much. They come in handy 3oz. squeezable tubes.

Aside from being delicious, Jolly Llama sorbets are also very nutritious and healthy. The Strawberry sorbets are only 70 calories each and contain both vitamin a and c. The Mango sorbets are just 80 calories, and contain both vitamin a and c as well. Another thing that is also great, is that they use cane sugar, are gluten-free and contain no artificial flavorings. They also carry 3 other flavors.

Overall, I think Jolly Llama has a great healthy product that no kid will be able to turn away. If I was on a diet, i surely would not feel guilty eating one of these, they are so low in calories that a whole 4pk box would be a great snack, lol. I also love that they donate a portion of their sales to organizations that work to help end world hunger. Thanks to Jolly Llama for the opportunity to review their product. They have graciously offered one of my readers a chance to try these as well!

Review - Power Squid Surge3000 Calamari Edition

PowerSquid is a familiar name when you think of surge-protectors. I remember looking to buy a surge protector a couple years ago and seeing all these very generic looking ones that looked like it would create more cable craziness. Many of my devices are brick connections which take up to two spaces on a traditional surge-protector, which look like regular power strips. This is a problem that i will NEVER have with my PowerSquid :)

PowerSquid was very generous to allow me to review one of their products. I was sent the PowerSquid Surge3000, Calamari Edition. This surge-protector has a retail price of $79.95, and it is very well worth it. It is not an average surge-protector, unlike the traditional ones that look like long blocks, this one has a shape of a squid, with the legs actually being flexible outlets.

The PowerSquid has 3240 joules w/ Ultra-MOV techonology. For those who don't quite know what that means, I'll explain little, I understand not too many people are geeky like me, lol. A joule is a measurement of energy, the higher the joule measurement, the better, as this is the amount of energy absortion a surge protector can take before it fails. This particular model has an red indicator light which will be on if it can still protect your items. It has 8 flexible outlets, 2 of which have blue LEDs. This makes it easy to spot in the dark.

I can not stress how important it is to have a surge-protector. We experience little power surges very often, and our expensive electronics are left vulnerable. Over time, or just on one occasion, it can ruin your electronics and cause them to no longer work. For example, you may be working on an important paper on your computer and all of a sudden you experience a little power surge that turns it off. Now, your information is lost, this is where surge-protectors protect your electronics. Any college student will tell you they have experienced this or at least know someone who has. Another great thing about the PowerSquid Surge3000 is that is doesn't only protect your electronics. It includes a coaxial cable and integral phone line splitter to protect your phone line, DSL and cable. Also included is a $500,000 Limited Connected Equipment Warranty. So, if for any reason the PowerSquid Surge3000 doesn't protect your T.V., they will replace it.

Overall, I'm very impressed with how sturdy this product is. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic just put together, as previous non-PowerSquid surge protectors I've had. I feel very confident that when we have a power surge, my electronics will be well protected. Thanks PowerSquid for the opportunity to review your wonderful product.

Disclaimer: I was NOT paid for this post, however I did receive the product in question to review. All opinions are my own and I have provided a fair and honest review. I received no other compensation for my review nor was I under any obligation to give a positive review.

New Comment Form For Student Saving Bucks

Go to IntenseDebateHey guys! I've been messing around with new comment forms to add to the blog. I found a great one, Intense Debate. It will be much easier for me to moderate comments, especially for giveaways and things of that sort. It also provides privacy for you guys. I've had more than a handful of people emailing me to delete their comment because they wrote their email in the comment form (which I require for giveaways if not available through your blogger profile).

So, this new form will still require you to enter your email, BUT it is not displayed publicly and is visible to ONLY me. I will no longer announce giveaway winners via their email, i will simple use their names and city/state if you guys choose to disclose that on the form. Also, this form has an optional entry for your website/blog, if applicable, (You can easily enter your blogger profile URL) i will use that instead to announce winners.

I hope you guys prefer this new one (will only be available on newer posts posted after 9/2). Perfect, in time for the GREAT Weekend Giveaway Bash this weekend! I'm super exited, hope you guys will drop by! So look below, leave a comment and try it out!

Trouble Commenting?
If you have trouble commenting on a post, please note that IntenseDebate Comment form is the very last thing to load on the page so make sure the page you are on has fully loaded. The comment form is located below the entire post. See the picture:
You will see "Comments" is red along with a form. You DO NOT have to sign up with Intense Debate to comment. You simply enter your name, email, and website (which is optional). Your email is ONLY visible to me, which helps with privacy for those of you who don't like to enter it for the public to see.

During giveaways, when you post more than 1 comment on a post, you only have to enter your email once. Also, when commenting you can sign into wordpress, twitter, openID, or an Intense Debate account to comment, but again, this is not needed or required.

If you  have trouble commenting please try to use another web browser; FireFox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.
