When i received the Rock-It speaker, it came with a handy USB cable, an audio extension cable, four replacement sticky pads and the Rock-it itself. It requires (2) double AA batteries or the USB connection cord. As soon as i received it, i connected it to my MP3 and started sticking it on every surface near me. Some transmit better sound than others. I found it works well with hallow objects. The box it comes in worked pretty well, as well as an empty cardboard box, the refrigerator door and a couple others.
The Rock-It is compatible with any device that contains an audio jack, you can find them on mp3s, cell phones, laptops, etc. Not everyone carries portable speakers because of their size. The Rock-it is a little bulky, but portable nonetheless. Its great to have this handy when you want to rock out with your friends to some songs. I also have some places I'm curious about and want to go stick it on.. like a mailbox and a tree trunk (lol).
Pros - I love the fact that the Rock-it is very easy to use. The sticky pad, although you get some replacements, can be cleaned. It is perfect for me, because i really don't like transporting my speaker system (which has a sub-woofer) from room to room. I like listening to music while I cook, but its a hassle; all the plugging, replugging, transporting and what not.
Cons - Although it serves as a good alternative to my speaker system, the quality doesn't compare. I also think the encasing could improve a bit, it looks a bit plain. Another con is definitely the absence of a volume control. You can not control the volume with the Rock-it speaker; you can only control the audio on your mp3 or other device.Overall all, OrigAudio's Rock-It speakers are very practical. I think these are great especially for college students in dorms. You'll have your friends taking it away from you to stick it on their favorite surfaces!
