PowerSquid is a familiar name when you think of surge-protectors. I remember looking to buy a surge protector a couple years ago and seeing all these very generic looking ones that looked like it would create more cable craziness. Many of my devices are brick connections which take up to two spaces on a traditional surge-protector, which look like regular power strips. This is a problem that i will NEVER have with my PowerSquid :)
PowerSquid was very generous to allow me to review one of their products. I was sent the PowerSquid Surge3000, Calamari Edition. This surge-protector has a retail price of $79.95, and it is very well worth it. It is not an average surge-protector, unlike the traditional ones that look like long blocks, this one has a shape of a squid, with the legs actually being flexible outlets.
The PowerSquid has 3240 joules w/ Ultra-MOV techonology. For those who don't quite know what that means, I'll explain little, I understand not too many people are geeky like me, lol. A joule is a measurement of energy, the higher the joule measurement, the better, as this is the amount of energy absortion a surge protector can take before it fails. This particular model has an red indicator light which will be on if it can still protect your items. It has 8 flexible outlets, 2 of which have blue LEDs. This makes it easy to spot in the dark.
