NEW Target Coupons On ShopKick App!

UPDATE 8/17 - New Coupon Added Below!

More NEW Target coupons available on the ShopKick App today. As long as they keep on posting new coupons, I'll keep posting them for you guys! :) Don't know what ShopKick is? ShopKick is an app available for iPhone and Android devices for FREE. You get points for walking into certain stores and scanning items, you can then redeem the points for gift cards or use them to donate to worthy causes :) I love this app, and another wonderful thing is that they post Target mobile coupons via the ShopKick App. The Target coupons on ShopKick are different from the mobile coupons, insert and website Target coupons.

How to redeem? Simply click "Use This" then you will see the barcode which the cashier should scan. You will have 12 hours to use it after tapping "Use This" or else it expires, so I suggest you click "Use This" only when you're already at the store!
I'm not sure how often they update their Target coupons on ShopKick but its a nice surprise when you find them on there! :) As of this morning, they posted 6 NEW Target Coupons and they all expire 8/19.

Los Angeles - $0.88 Whoppers @ Burger King 8/8 Only!

So, while having no other place to grab a cheap and quick drink while on a long drive we ended up passing by the nearest Burger King. I got a huge ice water (and a cone; no I didn't go cone-ing lol). I noticed a sign on their window stating Burger King will be selling their Whopper Burger for $0.88 on August 8th from 8AM - 8PM ONLY (get it? $0.88 on 8/8 from 8-8). I took a handy picture from my iPhone4 for you guys!

Yesterday we got a flyer with coupons from Burger King in the mail advertising the Whopper event and stating it was only available at valid locations here in Los Angeles. So, if you want to take a break paying $3.49+ for a Whopper, stop by your local Burger King on said date for a cheap treat. I use to LOVE Whoppers, but haven't had one in over 4 months since starting Nutrisystem. I've been a good girl, and $0.88 is too good to pass up :) I might just grab one too.

Planning & Getting Ready For Our Big Trip In December! [Seeking #Sponsors ]

Getting ready to travel for a family of 6 is no easy task. There is a LOT of planning, from buying the plane tickets, to figuring out what you'll be taking and so many other aspects. We don't get to travel as a family often, and us all going presents many stressful situations. We are happy we're going to get the opportunity to go as a whole family, the last time we ALL went back to our homeland together was over 10 years ago!

So where exactly are we going? Our homeland, Nicaragua, in Central America.
When are we leaving? In early December
How long will we be gone? A little over a month (I'll STILL blog the great deals for you guys!)

Exciting, right? I am in the process of stockpiling necessities for our month-long trip. Things like deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, hair cream, hair gel, laundry detergent, and many other things. One thing we desperately are waiting a good sale for is Bug Spray! Mosquitoes are horrible out there in the tropics, and they seem to love our fresh blood, lol.

Aside from the needs of our family of 6 (minus my brother, who lives in the homeland) we still need to plan on sending out our huge box full of toys for the kids in Nicaragua. We already scored $1,000 worth of toys for only $245 from Target to send but need much more to fill up the huge 30x30x30 box. I've mentioned it countless time before on here. What we do is buy toys and send them off to give away over there during La Purisima celebrations. These kids are unfortunate and the toys we give them are often the ONLY ones they will receive for Christmas. We are not made of money, but spending a little more than we have to put a smile on the faces of kids who are less fortunate than us makes US very happy.

As a result of this exciting trip, I will be reviewing travel-related products for the next months. I hope that any other of you are heading out on trips will find it useful. Remember, us college students can often get discounts for plane tickets, car rentals and hotels. I'll be mentioning more about that and other ways we can save money while traveling in the coming months.

We're looking forward to reviewing some great travel products including Gadgets, luggage, games, portable DVD players, Laptop bags, bag tags, organizers, and any other travel-related products. If you have a products you'd like us to review and expose our readers to, read our Media Kit and Contact Us! :)

Review - Unotron Keyboard w/ Spill Seal Technology

Dishwasher-Safe Keyboard, I bet that's a phrase that you've never heard before. I got the wonderful opportunity to review Unotron's keyboard and must say, I needed it. The Unotron keyboard is corded and comes with a detachable wrist support. It also has an adapter or you can just plug in it via USB connection. With plug and play technology, this is a super easy keyboard to use, just plug it in and it installs itself. I am very picky when I choose a new keyboard, it has to be perfect! The way the keys are spaced, the ease and feel of pushing down the buttons and all. I like to hear a slight click pushing down on buttons so I know I hit it, that is why I dislike those laptop keyboards, they annoy me.

Aside from the build of keyboards, I like ones that are easy to clean. I have never found one to fit that description unfortunately. My keyboards, as much as I try to keep them clean, always get full of crumbs and mostly dust that builds up, it makes my black keyboard look washed out and gross. Lets not mention the fact that I am a huge germaphobe. Unotron keyboard have Spill Seal technology allowing you to fully immerse your keyboard in water and soap, wash it, and have it work perfectly fine when it dries.

Unotron makes antimicrobial keyboards and mice with their spill seal technology. These antimicrobial protected products are great for students and anyone who spends a good amount of their time over their keyboards. I can say that as a student (and regular blogger) I'm at my computer way too much. That means many meals are also eaten here on my desk and, well, accidents happen. I can't recall how many times the jelly on my toast just happened to sneak off and fall right on my keyboard. Cleaning it is another product, and sometimes it goes undetected which leads to sticky hard-to-use keys. Thankfully washing the keyboard, draining it and letting it air dry take very little time. Its great to know I can wash my keyboard at any given time without having it ruined. A huge thanks to the wonderful people at Unotron for the opportunity to review their product :)

Disclaimer: I was NOT paid for this post, however I did receive the product in question, from the company or their representing  PR company,  free of charge in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own and I have provided a fair and honest review. I received no other compensation for my review nor was I under any obligation to give a positive review.

Extra Rodent Hairs In My Peanut Butter, Please. Things The FDA Allows

No, I don't really want extra rodent hairs in my peanut butter, but reality is, you've probably had a mouthful over the years. I came across an interesting article about the disgusting things the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) allows in our foods. I don't know how to feel about it, on one hand I understand companies can't control every aspect on their packaging and things inevitably get in our foods AND on the other hand it just plain disgusts me. What are a couple of examples of what the FDA allows in our foods?

Ground Paprika - Average of more than 11 rodent hairs per 25 grams
Chocolate - Average is 60 or more insect fragments per 100 grams
Macaroni/Noodle Products - Average of 225 insect fragments or more per 225 grams
Mushrooms; Canned/Dry - Average of over 20 or more maggots of any size per 100 grams of drained mushrooms
Peanut Butter - Average of 30 or more insect fragments per 100 grams
Popcorn - 1 or more rodent excreta pellets are found in 1 or more subsamples
Tomato Juice - Average of 10 or more fly eggs per 100 grams

Click here for a complete list.

Now, call me crazy, but I had no idea about this. As I typed some of the examples above I came to the conclusion about how I feel about it.... I'm disgusted. Next time you guys eat peanut butter, you might be the lucky ones with rat hair and feces in there, might you win a prize?

Frugal Tips From College Lips! Tip #352

Frugal Tips College Lips
Are you a College Student? Are you (nearly) broke? The cost of going to College burns a hole in your pocket and that is NO fun! Thankfully, other college students have many frugal tips to share and help you save money! This next tip comes Bree from CouponsOnCaffeine.com:
Frugal Tips from College Students
That is a GREAT tip! I rent all my textbooks as well, but never considered buying the digital version of books if I ever needed to keep them. I urge all my college buddies to rent and have referred them to a couple websites I use. There are many to look up and compare; Chegg.com, Book Rental.com, TextbookStop.com and many more. Check out our recent review of CampusBookRentals.com to get your exclusive 10% off coupon with a code you can only get via Student Saving Bucks! But hurry, its only valid for the first 10 people who use it :)

My Nutrisystem Weekly Weigh-In (Week #14) #NSNation

This is my 14th week on the Nutrisystem program. I have now been on the Nutrisystem program for 3 1/2 months and have lost 26 lbs. I have 2 weeks left on the programs and am extremely grateful for all i've been through and learned. I have lost almost 30lbs. and am looking to lose more on my own before my trip at the end of the year. I'm exited to be pushing myself on my own. I had the chance to try something new this week, it was the chocolate cake dessert. I am not a huge chocolate fan, and found the cake was not to my liking. I found it dry and a bad version of the fudge brownie (which is delicious).

This weeks weight-loss was ok, as I'm still building up my good habits due to my falling out last month.  I can't wait to keep pushing myself and lose more weight. I need to get into my exercise again like before! I'm hoping to lose an even 30lb. by the time my Nutrisystem journey ends, i think its possible if I push myself these next two weeks :) Don't forget to Check out my entire Nutrisystem Journey, my photos on Flickr or my videos on YouTube! Now its time, my weight loss for the 12th week on Nutrisystem:
