I'm looking for frugal College Students with tips on how YOU save on just about anything! I want to have random "Frugal Tips From College Lips" posts where I take your submitted tips and post them for other college students to read. Speaking to friends on campus and ones who live in dorms, they always have amusing and amazingly frugal tips, and I hope you guys can help submit some too!
If you have a tip you'd like to submit, use the contact form. If you have a blog of your own, please send along the link so we can link to you if we choose to post your tip. :)What is one frugal tip I ALWAYS give to other students? "When at a store, movie theater, or any other place of business, always ask if they have a student discount". Always carry your Student I.D. because you never know where you can potentially save with it! I have saved quite a bit by asking at local restaurants and stores :)

1) restaurants.com They offer reduced gift certificates for a reduced prices and almost every week they have a special code to get anywhere between 50-80% off. I just got two $25 gift certificates for $9! This is great for a night out with friends
2) chegg.com and campusbooks.com. Chegg.com rents textbooks out for the semester or quarter, books cost a forth of what they would in a campus bookstore. Campusbooks.com comares various websites and shows you the best price out there on the web for a book.
3) Amazonstudent I know you have written about this before but I love it! it's free to sign uo with a .edu account and you get free 2 day shipping on anything tagged "prime" they have a special right now for a $40 renewal.
4) If you go to school in a area with a good public transportation then student ID's often let you ride for free. Save money on gas and take the bus instead.
5) Always carry a water bottle and small snack with youu to avoid the vending machines. those dollars add up in the end.
6) Bring your own lunch. Spending $5 a day turns in to $25 a week and $400 a semester. Yikes...
7) Take advantage of everything your school has to offer. I drop my gym membership in fall and use my school's gym instead. Many campus bookstores offer discounted prices on software as well. I just got CS5 master suite for $100 it normally costs $1200!
Hope this helps!

8) swagbucks. every college student uses google so why not search and earn free stuff in return. It is great when you pair it with an amazonstudent account as you can earn $5 amazon gift cards and then have free shipping.
okay now I am tapped out. :)
