They follow Desmond Miles, who is a modern-day Assassin, who gets taken by Abstergo Industries. They are out for information for pieces of information to help them find certain artifacts that will allow them control human kind. The whole story and game play is amazing, it truly is one of my favorite video game series. And that is the great part of Assassin's Creed, that you have AC I, II, II, Brotherhood and Revelations to keep the story going and you see a lot of character development in just the first game alone.
