Review - Theo Chocolate

The Cacao bean is a major cash crop in many countries. Some countries, where it is a major cash crop, include my own, Nicaragua. Cacao is also an important export commodity in many other developing countries. This is where Fair Trade kicks in. In short, Fair Trade is a system of exchange that honors producers, communities, consumers, and the environment. I support by buying fair trade products. While reading another blog i came across a review of Theo Chocolates and was intrigued by their products, and company. So, after reading it, I contacted them for a review. And, thanks to Audrey, was sent 3 organic Chocolate Bars. I was sent Creamy Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate with Cherry and Almond and Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch.
  • First, I tried their Dark Chocolate with Cherry & Almonds. This bar contained 70% Cacao and was too bitter for my taste. My mom, however, thought it was great. To me, this bar was great melted down and used as a bakers chocolate. The smell of cacao was strong, you can taste the difference of quality compared to other major brands that make dark chocolate. The amount of cherry and almond was small, but tasty.
  • Second, I tried their Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Crush. This bar contained 40% cacao. This particular bar was my favorite. It was filled with bits and pieces of delicious crunchy hazelnut. The chocolate was very creamy and not bitter whatsoever. The mix of the milk chocolate, hazelnut and amount of cacao was perfection! The bar was the smallest of the three with the cutest label :)
  • Third, I tried the Creamy Milk Chocolate. This bar contained 45% cacao. It was very creamy and had a strong cacao smell like the dark chocolate bar, but wasn't as bitter. I paired it with some delicious cashews and finished the bar pretty fast. It was very tasty.
Theo Chocolate is the first and only organic and Fair Trade chocolate factory in the country. They have an array of chocolate bars, confections, cacao nibs, caramel and more. With flavors like Mint Dark Chocolate, Spicy Chile Dark Chocolate, and Malt Scotch Ganache, among others, you can't go wrong! These would be a great gift for that chocoholic friend we all have!

Overall, the bars are very good, the quality was great and the amount of cacao was great on all but the dark chocolate (for my taste). They were packaged very securely and had great packaging. Thanks to Theo Chocolates for the opportunity to review their wonderful product.

Disclaimer: I was NOT paid for this post, however I did receive the product in question to review. All opinions are my own and I have provided a fair and honest review. I received no other compensation for my review nor was I under any obligation to give a positive review.

Now you speaking my language. I love chocolate especially if it has hazelnuts in it.

Thank you for visiting me and following.
