Quick Reviews: Skin Lightening

Let me start off like this. We all have our perceptions of beauty, and we all have our preferences. Finished! lol.

My skin color is light with a strong yellowish undertone. I think this is very much due to the fact that i am Latina with Asian ancestry, and the latter overtook my skin genes. I think pale skin is beautiful. I have freckles, which i don't mind, they're cute, right? Unfortunately when i was younger (as if I'm even old, I'm only 21) i had light acne. A few pimples here and there would pop up and i would pick at them. So, over the years I've been left with subtle hyper-pigmentation because of this and was looking for a way to rid of them. I was looking to lighten my skin at the same time since I've gotten a little tan the past 2-3 weeks.

I searched, searched, and researched. I have a lot of cosmetics at home. However, a lot were "anti-aging", "anti-wrinkles" so i never touched them because i thought i had no need for that. Need or no need i looked into the stash and found a little gem, Anew Clinical Luminosity Pro Brightening Serum. I researched online and found almost no reviews on the product so i decided to test it out. Let me share with you my routine;

Morning, Evening or Night
Once or twice a week i substitute Co Bigelow's Honey Almond Scrub (Retail: $18)
Morning and Night i apply the Anew Clinical Luminosity Pro Brightening Serum. I rub it in for about 3 minutes and it takes a little bit for it to be absorbed.

Right after the Anew Luminosity PRO I use Clearly Remarkable Skin Lightening Gel by Paula's Choice on the hyper pigmentation areas only. This gel has 2% hydroquinone which is a skin lightener.

When i go out, i apply Benefit You Rebel in Light. I was never into any sort of make-up in my life but fell in love with this product. I treat it as a foundation, it is a tinted moisturizer with SPF 15. I also have Olay's Color Recapture that i use here and there.

Ok, well i just started this routine... about 5-6 days ago. BUT, let me tell YOU something. I am amazed at how fast it has worked. The hyper-pigmentation on my face is not gone... not all at least. I have seen them fade at least 25%. Keep in mind, i have only been doing this for 5-6 days. Amazing. If your looking for a way to accomplish what i'm doing, there are hundreds of combinations you can use, but this works for me. The Anew Luminosity Serum retails at $54 but you can find it on ebay for under $20.

Quick Reviews:

Anew Clinical Luminosity PRO Brightening Serum - I have fallen in love with this product. I sleep with it next to me in bed lol. I have seen results in less than a week with this serum. My face has gotten a big lighter, my pores have gotten smaller, my skin feels better. When i wake up i don't have to apply moisturizer, this serum has hydrated my face wonderfully. It is a gel that doesn't feel oily when applying it to our face, nor does it feel heavy when you have it on. Also, the smell of this serum is intoxicating, i love it!

Benefit You Rebel Lite - Amazing. I love that this has SPF 15 and moisturizes my skin. It rids my face of my super rosy spots i have on my cheeks sometimes. It doesn't feel heavy and provides nice coverage. It is not a foundation, but i treat it as one because i can!

Paula's Choice (Clearly Remarkable Skin Lightening Gel) - The color of this gel is odd to me, a clear brown. It has no strong odor. Results with this are pending, but it has only been 5-6 days so hopefully in a weeks time i can come and rave about it.

Olay Color Recapture - I love what this foundation does, it doesn't have an overly thick texture. It gives your face a little sparkle, that i didn't like. It covers well and is hydrating, unlike other products that make your face feel dry after applying foundation. It has SPF 15, always a good thing. I would use this product more often if it wasn't for the smell. Its just something i can't stomach for more than a couple minutes.
